Representing Immigrant Youth: Practical and Ethical Considerations for Pro Bono Attorneys
Wednesday, October 28, 2026
Time: 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM CST
Training Description: The ABA Children’s Immigration Law Academy (CILA) invites you to register for a complimentary 90-minute webinar for pro bono attorneys, “Representing Immigrant Youth: Practical and Ethical Considerations for Pro Bono Attorneys,” taking place during the National Celebration of Pro Bono happening in October. Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit will be provided for this training. For more information, please visit the CILA Pro Bono Training webpage.
This training is intended for attorneys who are interested in learning more about children’s immigration law and want to assist unaccompanied immigrant children in their immigration matters. During this training, CILA attorneys will provide information on immigrant youth in removal proceedings and the critical need for pro bono representation before diving into ten common scenarios that arise when working with immigrant youth on their legal cases. The speakers will provide practical guidance and considerations for pro bono attorneys to better understand and address these scenarios in practice. With a changing landscape impacting their rights and access to counsel, now more than ever, immigrant children need an advocate by their side.
CILA hosts a platform, Pro Bono Matters for Children Facing Deportation, featuring case cards showcasing many available pro bono opportunities for immigrant children across the nation. CILA will highlight specific opportunities for pro bono attorneys to get involved to assist unaccompanied children in their immigration matters.
