Gender Equity Task Force Mission
The Gender Equity Task Force (“GETF” or “Task Force”) is created to further CWL’s campaign for gender equity by, among other acts: (1) identifying and addressing instances where women face obstacles, are not compensated equally (in pay or benefits), do not receive acknowledgement or recognition or are otherwise treated less favorably due solely to their gender; (2) coordinating and preparing draft correspondence for board or executive committee approval to suggest CWL members for recognition and awards; creating a database to coordinate and assist CWL members to be considered as speakers or authors on areas of professional expertise and equity in the workplace for presentations and/or articles, and, following board or executive committee approval, to send outreach letters offering suggestions of women for recognition and panelists for future programs; (3) following board or executive committee approval to ask for commitments to gender equity and diversity in publications and speaking opportunities; and (4) to keep the membership informed of status and progress through periodic reports.
With its statewide presence, credibility and influence, CWL is uniquely situated to develop and implement effective actions as to further the mission of this Task Force throughout the state.

CWL Speakers Bureau Purpose
In aligning with prongs 2 and 3 of the mission statement set forth above, the CWL Speakers Bureau aims to provide a system to (1) promote CWL members as speakers on their self-identified areas of expertise and (2) promote CWL members as self-identified subject matter experts to third parties for CLE speaking opportunities and/or press inquiries.
- Only CWL members may be included in the CWL Speakers Bureau.
- Areas of professional expertise must be self-identified.
- Annual Renewals: Members must affirmatively re-opt in/verify their information every year.
