Lawyers Club of San Diego Balance Campaign

In January 2005, Lawyers Club of San Diego began a campaign to identify, develop and promote the adoption and implementation of effective alternative employment policies and practices that encourage and enable the hiring, advancement and retention of women in the San Diego legal community. Since then, the Lawyers Club Balance Campaign has been reaching out to the legal community with quarterly luncheon speakers on balance issues and informative newsletter articles. The Balance Campaign has also created on the Lawyers Club web site links to balance-related reports, organizations, and web sites (www.lawyersclubsandiego.com/balance.htm). In addition, the Balance Campaign is planning an outreach to local firms to promote the recognition of the issue and acceptance of a plan to address balance. A report on the issues facing firms and their employees in the struggle for balance is being prepared and should be released in early spring 2006. The highlight of the Balance Campaign will be a day long forum in October 2006 on the subject of balance.
