DUTIES:To initiate, coordinate and oversee outreach to and communications with potential and current affiliate organizations; encourage coordinated affiliate activities and solicit submissions about them for newsletter and website; organize and oversee certification process for CWL affiliates.

DUTIES: To organize CWL’s Annual Dinner, the organization’s major fundraising event where the new officers and board are sworn in. This event occurs on the first night of the CA State Bar Annual Meeting.

DUTIES: To manage all communications for CWL including to produce CWL Newsletter and emails news blasts. Solicit content and edit content for final publication. Set communications policies and coordinate communications strategies.

GENDER EQUITY COMMITTEE
DUTIES: To further CWL’s campaign for gender equity by identifying and addressing instances where women are overlooked or excluded from top lawyers lists, and roundtables or panels of speakers on important continuing legal education topics. In particular, to forward What Is Wrong With This Picture illustrations for publications in the CWL newsletter; send letters to the offenders offering to suggest women for recognition and panelists for future programs, ask for commitments to gender equity and diversity in future lists or for future speakers, and keep the membership informed of status and progress through periodic reports.

DUTIES: To work to increase diversity on the bench; evaluate candidates for judicial appointment; review and revise judicial evaluation procedures when necessary; plan and implement and coordinate, along with the Judicial Advisors, CWL’s “So You Want to be a Judge?”TM seminars; initiate So You Maybe Want to be a Judge Someday program for newer lawyers and conduct outreach to law school students to educate them about possible future judicial careers.
